IN-HOME RESPITE AGENCIES

  • A professional caregiver who works for an agency or individually comes to the home​

  • Allows family members to be comfortable at home​

ADULT DAY CENTERS – social activities, transportation, personal care, therapeutic activities ​

  • Social – meals, reception, and some healthcare services​

  • Medical/health - more extensive healthcare and therapeutic services, some social events​

  • Specialized for services for certain medical conditions (i.e., dementia, disabilities)​

RESIDENTIAL OR FACILITY-BASED RESPITE CARE

  • Assisted living or nursing homes offer short-term, overnight stays lasting several days or longer
