Below are some programs in Orange County that offers affordable and accessible transportations for seniors to help them stay connected and independent in their communities.
Many cities in Orange County offer their own unique transportation programs in addition to county-wide options. Eligibility often depends on your age and where you live, so always confirm the requirements. Some programs are specific to medical appointments, while others cover social or shopping trips. 1. Senior Subsidized Taxi Services
Area of service: Fullerton
Cost: Free
What it offers: This program provides a discounted taxi service for eligible senior residents of Fullerton. It helps seniors access transportation for various reasons such as non- medical emergency appointments, grocery shopping, or community events within the city of Fullerton. Some trips are at a reduced rate while others are free. There is a limit of 8 trips per month.
2. Senior Wheels
Area of Service: Anaheim
What it offers: This program provides transportation for active adults age 60 or above who are residents of Anaheim. The destination must be within 10 mile radius of the resident’s home.
3. Senior Mobility Program/ T.R.A.I.L.S
Area of Service: Yorba Linda
What it offers: This program provides a low cost door-to-door, wheel chair transportation service for seniors age 60 and above that lives in Yorba Linda. Destinations must be within Yorba Linda or within 3 mile radius outside of Yorba Linda’s city limits in Orange County.
4. OC Bus Senior Program
Area of Service: Orange County
What it offers: The Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) provides reduced bus fares for seniors aged 60 and over. Seniors must present a form of identification when boarding the bus.
